 As usual, August is a month full with activities in UKM and KIAM. By refering to the previous entry, in KIAM itself, we had two mega project running in this month.  Luckily, the UKM's sports tournament (SUKEM),which is traditionally held in August had been postponed to December,reducing a bit the packness of the activities in this month. Here are a few activity going on in KIAM or involved KIAM's students (fellow as well), in this tiring month.

XPDC Gunung Kajang (1038m), Pulau Tioman, Pahang
|
|
 Was held on 16-20 August 2004. This is my third appearance on this island. The first one was last year at Kg Mukut (southern region). Second time was on May this year (west side -Kg Genting) do refer entry 18th May 2004. This time I went to the east side (kg Juara).   So far the east beach was the most impressive one with gorgeous view (just look at the photos included). Lebih menarik, time tu ada pelepasan penyu ke pantai. Istimewanya gunung ini adalah, pendakian sambil menderma.... menderma darah... banyak sangat pacat.. sampai ke puncak. Pendakian dan penurunan juga terlalu lama, start 9 pg hingga 1 pg! Sbb planning silap sikit..... Anyway 21 out of 28 of us make it to the peak.

Bengkel Kecemerlangan Akademik 2004

 Telah diadakan di Pusat Latihan dan Khidmat Masyarakat UKM, Tanjung Karang, Selangor dari 13-15 Ogos 2004. Program anjuran Sekretariat Pendidikan dgn kerjasama Pentadbiran Kolej Idris al-Marbawi ini merangkumi pelbagai aktiviti termasuk yang tidak mungkin dilupakan, melihat kelip-kelip di persisiran sungai di Kg Kuantan.

It's quite bored today, after long struggling years, finally I'm finish with my works and had submitted my thesis yesterday. Eventhough the viva is still long way to go (they said 2 but commonly 6 months), that doesn't affect my short celebration. As a commemorative entry, I present you some of the work done by me and my colleagues.

KIAM Family Day 2004

At Genting Bayu Chalet, Kampung Genting, Pulau Tioman, Pahang from 15th to 17th May 2004. Actually this is my second trip here, last time (last year) we stayed at Mukut Harmony Resort at Kg Mukut. It is also a traditional malay village. The extra attraction there was the Asahan waterfall. The snorkling activity was still held at the Marine Park and Pulau Rengis seem this is the best spot for that purpose. Unfortunately, I was unable to show you the marvellous view of the underwater world esp the beautiful coral at Pulau Rengis, seem my camera is not a waterproof one! May be next time when I can afford to get one of those! Any comments? Program Motivasi Minda JAKSA KIAM
|

Di Pulau Sibu, Mersing, Johor, Malaysia pada 23-26 Mac 2004. Menginap di Twinbeach Resort, Pulau Sibu. Ini merupakan siri ke lima program yang bertujuan sbg penghargaan kpd para JAKSA Kolej Idris al-Marbawi, UKM. Yg pertama telah diadakan di Tmn Negara, Pahang (1999), Kedua di Tasik Kenyir, Terengganu (2001). Ketiga di Pulau Perhentian, Terengganu (2002). Keempat, pada tahun lepas di Pulau Tioman, Pahang (2003). Pulau yang terletak dalam gugusan kepulauan yang sama dgn Pulau Tioman ini, agak kecil saiznya dan memiliki kawasan genting ditengah-tengahnya. Maka dikiri kanan kawasan chalet terdapat kawasan laut. Kedudukannya juga agak hampir dengan tanah besar, cuma memerlukan 25 minit perjalanan dengan bot dr jeti Tg Leman.
